Western music - Western music is a broad category of music that includes all musical genres that use a 12-note chromatic scale, including Western classical music, rock and roll, and many other forms of popular music. The word Western may be misleading; although much of this music came from Europe and music of the United States, important contributions have come from places like Russia, Japan, and Australia.

History of Western music - The history of Western music is closely tied to the history of Western classical music and includes many popular and folk traditions:

Western Music Association - The Western Music Association was incorporated in 1989 to promote western music as well as the history and literature of the American West.

Western music (North America) - Western Music, directly related to the old English, Scottish, and Irish folk ballads, was originally composed by and about the people settling and working in the American West and western Canada. Mexican music, especially in the American Southwest, also somewhat influenced its development.
